"They Control The Weather" – Some Old Music I Wrote

I found some old stuff I made in early college and thought you all would enjoy this one! (most of the rest are TERRIBLE). As a side-note, I didn't make that image either. You can see all the details here: http://www.songfight.org/songpage.php?key=they_control_the_weather

This track was thrown together for a SongFight! competition. I decided to go under the moniker "The Iron Kids Of Canada" for no real reason (yay young adult self!). It's about as simple in execution as it sounds: drumbeat and accompaniment around an auto-tuned weather report. Excellent, as far as source material turning into something musical. With a little bit of manipulation, the simple idea turned out quite good, and I'm still surprised that it worked as well as it did. I'm pretty sure this was done in Garageband, but it may have been done in Logic, too. I'm always happy when something mundane can be turned into something at least somewhat interesting, and at times, almost soulful.

Enjoy the sounds of the weather of Richmond, Virginia!
